Ecolodge Trail (20 minutes)
Ideal for young children and those wishing to get a brief taste of forest trekking before attempting more ambitious trails, this walk takes visitors along a safe, carefully constructed path through the old secondary forest in the resort grounds. The forest is home to many varied species of butterflies, indigenous pineapple groves and bamboo stands, as well as agar trees, eucalyptus and a variety of indigenous Lao trees, bushes and shrubs. A brief walk along this trail enables visitors to appreciate the way in which forest cover develops when left to regenerate naturally without human interference |

This trek offers a boat ride, trekking, waterfalls, and a chance to experience the natural splendour of the famous Phou Khao Kwai National Protected Area. The journey starts with a crossing by long-tailed riverboat from the resort over the Nam Ngum River where trekkers are met by a minibus which takes them on the one-hour trip to the Tad Xai and Pha Xay Waterfalls. Lunch is taken with a local family, after which guests continue the trek through dense primary forest before either spending the night in a homestay with a local family or returning to the resort by minibus and long-tailed boat.
